Tropical Garden Design

The owners of this beautiful semi wanted to enhance the existing tropical garden and create an more uniform look. There were a number of overgrown tree's on the property.

Midas Touch Gardens brief was to manage the project including site preparation, plant selection and the planting process.

The first step was to prepare the gardens for planting which involved tree stump and plant removal. New soil was brought in to enrich the planting areas.

We used mature golden cane palms to create instant privacy. The client included hibiscus on either side of the central garden feature to soften the garden with pretty tropical flowers. We transplanted existing cast iron plants to match the opposite side of the garden and give the garden uniformity. Cream clivia's were used in the planter box to match the existing orange clivia plants below and keep within the tropical theme.

At the front entrance, we planted liriope evergreen giant to provide the same grass look as through the front gateway. This will grow well in the shady position and complement the existing gardenia's growing underneath the tropical pink frangiapani tree.
